Castles & Crusades RPG Adventurers Companion

Welcome to the Adventurers Companion, a newly revised and redesigned sourcebook for Castles & Crusades all about animal companions and magical familiars. For too long, these companions were the sole domain of the wizard, but no longer. With this book, any character of any class can have access to both mundane animal companions, and supernatural familiars of a mystical or otherworldly origin.

The Adventurers Companion contains a wide array of animals which may accompany a PC over the course of their adventures. The first chapter concerns common animal companions, how to acquire them, and how to care for them. The second chapter details the fundamental concepts of familiars and how they work.

Subsequent chapters focus on a character class, and include thematically appropriate familiars tailored to the class in question. These chapters have unique rules for how each class acquires a familiar, as well as rules for a totally unique familiar available only to members of that class.
