Parcelforce
 Parcelforce Prices and Dispatch Times

Parcelforce charge us for the journey and not the size or the weight or your package so regardless of how large and heavy, or how small and light your package is, it does not influence the price we pay. For standard UK addresses excluding remote destinations we charge the following.
  • Royal Mail Parcelforce Economy
      • £5.95
      • Dispatched within 3 working days on a 48 hour service.
  • Royal Mail Parcelforce Express
      • £6.95
      • Dispatched within 2 working days on a 24 hour service.
  • Royal Mail Parcelforce Priority
      • £7.95
      • Dispatched same or next working day on a 24 hour service.
  • Royal Mail Parcelforce Remote Destination
      • £9.95
      • For areas Parcelforce class as a remote destination. Dispatched within 3 working days on a 48 hour service though note shipments may be in transit for 5+ working days for some remote destinations like the Isle of Man, Guernsey, or Jersey.
The 'Estimated Arrival' date offered during checkout is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. During public holiday periods, like Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter for example, your item may arrive later than the estimated date due to the bank holidays. The above prices apply for all parcel subtotals up to £250. Should your order value go over this amount, an additional £4 will be added to the postage price to cover the extra insurance cost with Parcelforce.

We recommend you check the Parcelforce website for service updates for any potential delays in your postcode area. Dungeonland will send you a tracking number as soon as we book your parcel in but it should be noted that your tracking number does not activate with Parcelforce until the driver arrives to collect the parcel from us and scans it in.

    Book Packaging

For orders that include only books, with at least one hardback, and no other items and up to a certain size we will use a ColomPac branded extra strong book wrap. These are made of high-quality cardboard to offer better protection and come with a self-seal strip. They are also environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. These book wraps are the best on the market available to us and come in at around four times the cost of a standard book wrap. For hardback book orders they are the only book wrap type we'll use.

    ColomPac Book Wrap

For orders that include only softback books and no other items and up to a certain size we will use an unbranded standard strength book wrap or card backed envelope. With either book wrap, bubble wrap is used at our discretion as these wraps are designed to fit and hold your book snug and tight and bubble wrap can cause the book wrap to bulge or not seal correctly.

    Book Mailer

For all other types of orders, including mixed item orders, or book orders too large to fit into the book wraps above, we will box up your order. We may use brand new or recycled packaging. For larger and heavier size orders we will use bubble wrap and other packing materials to protect your items. Getting your order safely to you is paramount to us and that's why we use the most expensive strongest book wraps available to us and choose only Parcelforce as our courier (their track record for safely delivering our books and items has proven consistantly better than that of other couriers).

    Eco Friendly

    Eco Friendly

At Dungeonland we embrace sustainability with your packaging. We use eco friendly brown tape to seal your box. Made from natural brown paper, it not only offers eco packaging but is shipped to us in a paper wrap so no plastic is used at any stage. Our book wraps are also environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. These are shipped in Parcelforce branded mailer bags which contain 84% recycled content. Information on how to recycle your Parcelforce bag is included on each bag we send out. The card boxes and bubble wrap we use are typically recycled from previously used packaging or we purchase in 'one time used' card boxes. We do not purchase in any other packaging types though we may have old packaging around that our books have been delivered to us in, and we may recycle this and use it up at times.

    Remote Destinations

Some postcode areas Royal Mail Parcelforce deliver to include higher shipping fees as they are classed as remote destinations. Remote destinations include:
    • Guernsey
    • Highlands and Islands of Scotland (IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17- 26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE AB31, AB33-38, AB45, AB52-56 and FK17-21)
    • Isle of Man (IM)
    • Isle of Scilly (TR21-25)
    • Isle of Wight (PO30-41)
    • Jersey

    Parcelforce Tracking And Assistance

If Parcelforce were unfortunate enough to miss you with an attempted delivery, then there are a number of different options available to you.
Royal Mail Parcelforce do not leave a card if they miss you. Everything is done via the tracking. Redelivery of your parcel is free on a weekday and to the original address or to a neighbour. There are some services that Parcelforce may charge you for and these include guaranteed delivery on a Saturday (£12.00), redelivery to a brand new address (£5.50) or to a Post Office (£1.00). We recommend you make yourself familiar with their terms before purchasing from us.

Should a parcel be recorded by Parcelforce as customer refused delivery then your parcel will be treated as an unwanted return. Dungeonland is within its rights to deduct the return cost of postage from any later refund issued. We may also reject future orders to addresses that have refused our deliveries.

    New with Dinks

Sometimes Dungeonland may receive brand new stock from suppliers that arrives with damage, but we are unable to return. These are usually in the form of dinks, or indentations, and generally to the corners or spine of a book or an items outer packaging. These items are otherwise complete and perfectly suitable for use. These may be sold on our website and are a suitable bargain for customers that intend to use the book, but not suitable for customers that would like to store the book as part of a pristine collection. Where they are advertised on our website, they will be clearly marked as new (with dinks) and will have a discount on them usually ranging from 15 - 20% off. These items are exempt from being returned as faulty damaged products due to being advertised as already having dink damage to them. To see an example of what a typical dink may look like click here.

    Local Fylde Coast Customers

If you are based on the Fylde Coast you may be local to us. If you are, and you have placed at least one order before in the past, we will contact you if we are able to offer you a local collection or delivery service. Once this is set up you will be able to purchase items without any postage payment on them.

My Country Is Not Listed On The Checkout

You can still purchase from Dungeonland. However, you will need to use a freight forwarder. This means we will ship your items to the freight forwarder in the UK and they will then ship the items on to yourself. There are many freight forwarders in the UK that you can choose. You can search for these online using traditional search methods. If you do not wish to spend time searching we have listed the details of some freight forwarders that our existing customers use. Please note, we are not connected with any of these freight forwarding companies in any way. They are completely independent of us.

Why Are We No Longer Shipping To The EU

This is mainly due to tax reasons. Since Brexit the EU is now asking UK companies to register for tax accounting in each individual country they ship to. As a small business we are not in a position to spend time and money on accountancy in each EU country. By shipping your parcel to a freight forwarder it is they who will take care of the importation and tax implications.
